Volunteer lifeboat crew launched at 11.41pm last night (Friday 15 September) to reports of a missing person thought to be in the Harlyn Bay area.
The crew arrived on scene and began a shoreline search from Cataclews Point round to Harlyn Bay. Using the lifeboats thermal imaging camera the crew were able to find the casualty at Cataclews Quarry and alerted the Padstow Coastguard Rescue team who were also on scene searching the area.
The Padstow Lifeboat remained in position lighting up the area where the casualty was until the Padstow Coastguard team arrived there.
The crew returned to the lifeboat station at about 2am after a successful multi-agency search.
Padstow RNLI all-weather lifeboat launched on Sunday (2 July) at 12:23pm to help a 12 meter yacht off Perranporth.
The lifeboat reached the yacht at 12:57pm and Newquay RNLI lifeboat crew were already on scene. The yachts propeller was caught in fishing net and so required a tow from the Padstow Tamar Class lifeboat, Spirit of Padstow.
The crew established a tow line and due to the tides the yacht was left safely moored to the Padstow lifeboats mooring in the Camel Estuary.
The crew returned to the station at 4:40pm.
